Chia has 6 times more calcium, 11 times more phosphorus and 4 times more potassium than milk, per 100 g.

 

 

 

Chia is a good source of vitamin B.  When comparing Chia´s vitamin content to other cereals, it is higher in niacin than corn, soy and rice.  Chia’s content of thiamine and riboflavin is similar to that in rice and corn.

 

Chia is an excellent source of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc and copper.  Chia has 13 to 354 times more calcium, 2 to 12 times more phosphorus, and 1.6 to 9 times more potassium per 100 gr. than wheat, rice, oatmeal and corn.

The level of iron in Chia is unusually high for this type of seeds.  Compared to other traditional products known for their iron content, Chia has 6 and 1.8 times more iron in per 100 gr. than spinach and lentils, respectively.
